For our location in Hamburg we are looking for a

Manager Purchasing & Supply (m/w/d) - Bunker, Lubricants & Chemicals

Responsibilities And Tasks

Responsible for purchasing activities within a section (region or services) and/or cross-divisional representation for other sections

Global procurement of fuels/lubricating oil/chemicals

Contract management, purchasing with SAP and MS Office

Monitoring and optimising internal/external operations along the supply chain

Active supplier management (cultivation, development and expansion)

Preparation and conduct of negotiations at various hierarchical levels

Risk management

Support and develop price hedging strategies

Operational procurement control

Management/organisation of procurement processes

Develop/process cost reduction programmes

Reliable management of the conflicting priorities between technical/logistical requirements and commercial terms

Analysis of the markets and participation in planning

Requirements And Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Business management or Engineering or experience as a Chief Engineer

Relevant professional experience in purchasing

Knowledge of bunkers, lubricants and chemicals desirable

Good knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint) and ideally also SAP R/3

Very good written and spoken English; knowledge of Spanish an advantage

Confident appearance and assertiveness as well as negotiating skills and intercultural competence

An analytical mind and understanding of business principles

Strong communication skills, highly motivated and a team player
